Harnessing the power of multimedia

One of the greatest assests of multimedia documents is interactivity, wich responds to a fundamental need to have control over information rather than it having control over the user. It enables users to instantly consult a given topic, in a non-linear fashion.

Educational dimension Studies have shown that some learning methods are more effective than others when it comes to assimilating information: 20% effectiveness through listening, 40% through seeing and 80% through action. Interactivity is the vehicle par excellence for "action", offering a non-linear viewing experience that is not possible with video tapes.

Multimedia applications can be divided into three major categories: product or company presentations, interactive kiosks and training. (Please refer to the "Training and e-learning section of this website for more information.)
